Eye Lag Screws: Ideal for Fixing Both Metal as well as Wooden Objects

An eye lag screw is basically used to fasten the back surface of your pole with the end of a guy wire. It is also used to fasten your desired anchor point to the end of a bungee cord. At Mutual Screw and Supply, we never encourage you to use such kind of fastener to anchor your main zip line cable. Instead, we suggest you to use an eyebolt or cable sling.

Eye Lag Screw

Before buying an eye lag screw, you should always measure the length from the base of the eye till the point where the threads end. For instance you can go for a 4″ lag screw, which features a shank length of 4 inches with its eye portion extending past this, especially if you are looking for attaching any suspended ceiling hanger wire to the wood.

These kinds of screws resemble eyebolts, except for the feature that they screw into objects, instead of passing through them. We would never suggest you to use them to anchor your zip line, but they feature a bunch of other applications, such as making hammocks and stuff.

We offer an array of such types of fasteners for fastening both metals as well as wooden objects, including installing various industrial tools. While the self-tapping & sharp-point rivets are inserted without pre-drilling holes in the receiving surface, these fasteners are drilled with an eye lag jig pole, along-with a 6.4 mm hex driver and a variable speed drill having a minimum speed of 200 rpm.

The sharp point ends of such screws get easily inserted by using the Eye lag installation tool (ELAT). These usually work from the floor by using the I-Lag telescopic pole and are ideal for hanging plants from patio ceilings.
